I just put an old lady's maxi pad through the wash and all I can think is this is my life...

Blogging Slacker

I know I've been slacking lately. Considering I'm on vacation right now, you'd think I'd find the time to blog a little but that's not at all the case. Instead I've been enjoying the bumpy road that is the first trimester of pregnancy. I've been asking advice of everyone and figuring out the things that work for me. I've been spending time with Turkey Butt. In fact we just celebrated our one year anniversary and if you look back through my blog, you'll see it's been a busy year! My sister Aych and her boyfriend just bought their first house which brings me endless amounts of joy! Especially when their precocious cat Chubbs gets himself into assorted predicaments. Tonight while Turkey Butt was working, the dog and I went to visit my parentals. They're so much fun to spend time with - eating, debating, watching TV. I always hate to leave.

It's been a good week :) I just hit the ten week milestone in this pregnancy which means that Pumpkin is the size of a prune! It's truly amazing to me how quickly baby's grow in utero. It's also truly amazing how each and every pregnancy website has completely different milestones for week ten. But I take it all in stride and follow my gut - which is growing slightly. My boobs on the other hand are ginormous (and I don't care if this isn't a real word)! Turkey Butt and I have even agreed on a girl's name. We've loved the same boy's name since we first began dating and talking about future children but our names for girl's have been all over the place. One ten more weeks til we can (hopefully) find out the sex and share the name with the world! Cross your fingers that no one else uses my names before I get the chance to (that really would be a deal breaker)! Anyways, this is my life!

8 Weeks, 4 Days

Finally had my first prenatal Dr's appointment today! Things went very well. My expected due date is October 25th (though my Dr. concedes that it doesn't take into account my long cycles) and I am 8 weeks, 4 days pregnant! I will now be visiting my Dr (actually I see a Nurse Practitioner) on a monthly basis. Next visit I may even get to hear the baby's heartbeat. More likely it'll be the visit after that though. Still, I'm very excited and cannot wait to spread the news. But first, Turkey Butt has to tell his best friend Cee who lives in New Zealand currently and is very hard to get ahold of. Anyone who regularly follows my blog, I've just published all of the pregnancy posts I've been writing but not posting since I found out that I was pregnant in February. Please feel free to read about all my fun and misadventures. This is my life!

This Just In...

Day Twenty Nine

Day 29 – Something you could never get tired of doing

Spending quality time with Turkey Butt. Laughing, being silly and generally not acting our age. It's love - and I wouldn't trade it in for all the money in the world. This is my life!

Day Twenty Eight

Day 28 – Your favorite movie.

So hard to choose just one... but this was always my favorite as a kid. I really wanted to move to a big city and become a fire fighter. Believe it or not...

Backdraft

Certain elements of this movie still stick with me to this day. Like the concept of fire being alive. Donald Sutherland really did a great job in this film and William Baldwin was such a hunk! Even as an adult, I still enjoy watching this movie. It was a great storyline! This is my life.

Day Twenty Seven

Day 27 – A picture of you last year and now and how have you changed since then?

I don't know if you can see my hiding there in the corner. This was from the 2nd birthday party of that little boy seated front and centre. Changes? Well, my hair still looks like that. Though it may be shorter right now, it's hard to tell. It is always up though. I still wear that grey sweater and those glasses. Those jeans though, I don't expect to ever fit into those again. But, I really don't see many physical changes. But March 29th will be my one year anniversary with Turkey Butt... so outside of looks, there have been a lot of changes. Hopefully you've been keeping up to date on my blog so you know what they've been. It's been fun! This is my life.

Spreading the News.

Turkey Butt and I went to my Diddy's and Step Mom's house for Supper last night. We used the opportunity to tell them about our impending Bundle Of Joy! While my Step Mom was working in her home office, and just before my Diddy was expected to arrive home from work, I stuck this:

on the fridge door. Diddy saw it immediately because he conveniently arrived home with groceries to put away. They were both SO excited which makes us REALLY excited. This first trimester, when the world doesn't yet know our secret, is really hard. I spend 90% of the time filtering my thoughts and hiding my excitement about being pregnant. I can't wait to be able to talk about it openly. But until then, moments like last night mean the world to us. Right before dinner we even had a congratulatory toast - Turkey Butt and Diddy with water, my Step Mom with wine and me with a juice pack. Haha, everyone had a good laugh and found it very appropriate! I'm feeling the love! This is my life!!!

Day Twenty Four

Day 24 – A photo of something that means a lot to you.

Since I have already used Turkey Butt in my photo of something that makes me happy...

I'll go with our baby girl Adora on this one. Even though she peed on the carpet at Grampie's last night... TWICE! She still means the world to me! This is my life!

Five Weeks

Here's a recap of Week Four:

Every week that passes uneventfully makes me the happiest girl in the world! Finally our pumpkin is growing: he/she is the size of an apple seed now!!
So very excited and anxious for my appointment on the 20th of March! It's only with the Nurse Practitioner at my Doctor's Office but hopefully the important appointments will begin happening soon. I cannot wait for the ultrasound to find out that everything is okay! This is my life.
